God Provides!

The island Little Cay has become our mental heaven on earth. It is a paradise place that has few equals. Cathy and I spent a week on this beautiful isle back in 2004. Each time we have the privilege to return it is such a joy.

It is only large enough for a house, hut and storage room. It has two docks and is a 360 degree view that is pure ecstasy. The photo below is one we took on our first visit. You can clearly see the sugar sand and emerald water that touches the island on all sides. Each time we show someone a photo they say, I want to go there!

You only have a few options of what you can do on the island. There is no running water except some gathered rain water. There is a diesel generator for some electricity but that is used sparingly. So no television, radio, telephone are available. You go to bed with the sun and get up with the sun.

You can sleep on hammocks hung between the palm trees. Read books and talk. I love to study the Bible and dig for kingdom riches. Cathy loves to explore the island looking for shells, crabs and other interesting items. She always comes home with a treasure chest of discoveries that she finds.

The first morning we woke up on Little Cay my eyes opened to notice the moon setting into the ocean. I nudged Cathy and said, look! She sat up and exclaimed how beautiful. We sat and marveled at the view we were given and thanked the Lord. About that time the sun came through the window above our bed. We both turned on our knees and witnessed the sun coming up from the ocean on the other side of the island. It was a moment that neither one of us will never forget. It was happiness that felt like a touch from the hand of God.

Because July 4th was going to pass while we were on the island I mentally lamented that we wouldn’t see any fireworks. The evening of the fourth something strange and beautiful transpired.

As dark approached Cathy noticed some light flickering in the water. Her first thought was that lighting must be somewhere in the distance. Then we realized the lights were coming from the water. It was bioluminescence flickering in the water! God’s light show was far more magnificent than any man made fireworks show ever designed. It was amazing!

We never know how God will give us the desires of our heart!
