Talk, talk, talk

Many see the Word of God. . .few observe!

7 gYou shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. [1]

This scripture verse seemed to communicate a continual talking at all times of the day. I have finally come to understand it means a watchfulness to talk. Verse 20 says it well, when in time you son comes and asks you. . .then you speak.

1696 דָּבַר, דָּבַר, דָּבַר [dabar /daw·bar/] v. A primitive root; TWOT 399; GK 1818 and 1819 and 1820; 1143 occurrences; AV translates as “speak” 840 times, “say” 118 times, “talk” 46 times, “promise” 31 times, “tell” 25 times, “commune” 20 times, “pronounce” 14 times, “utter” seven times, and translated miscellaneously 38 times. 1 to speak, declare, converse, command, promise, warn, threaten, sing. 1a (Qal) to speak. 1b (Niphal) to speak with one another, talk. 1c (Piel). 1c1 to speak. 1c2 to promise.1d (Pual) to be spoken. 1e (Hithpael) to speak. 1f (Hiphil) to lead away, put to flight.[2]

. This root has various significations, of which several are only found in the derivatives [in Hebrew], but which in the cognate languages also appear in the verb. These various meanings may be thus arranged--

(1) The primary power, as the etymologists in Holland long ago rightly observed, is that of setting in a row, ranging in order (Gr. εἴρω); hence--[3]

If you live the life you want others to live they will eventually ask you why you do what you do. It is your behavior that causes them to take notice. When you answer their questions it will leave an impression because want to know the answer. That will prick their mind and heart in a way that they will never forget.

Are you a constant talker or a visual example of Godliness?

Teachable?

A Kingdom Leader has an attitude that is gentle and humble. He is open and teachable. She is poised and a clear thinker. They are polite and gracious to those in authority. They are appreciated by others because they are pleasant to be around.

Is your heart fixed only on God? Can you correct others without arrogance? Do you defend your Christian faith with gentleness? Are you ready to be taught by the Word of God each day? Or is your heart flooded with bitterness and contentiousness? Daniel amazes me with his gentleness and humility in serving four pagan kings in Babylon.

Daniel 1:4 says, young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king’s palace. He was to teach them the language and literature of the Babylonians. (1)

We pray that animosity does not stain your heart while you lead others.

Are you for real?

A Kingdom Leader has the ability to enter the presence of God. He has sincerity, security, salvation and sanctification. It is what we call a sincere or contrite heart. The thought of sincere carries the idea of being true, genuine and without an ulterior motive.

This quality will allow you to persevere in the trials of life and leadership. Have you repented from sin that so easily entangles you? Have you apologized to those who you may have offended? Will you accept an apology from someone who has slighted you?

Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.[1]

You should lead with an open and affectionate heart.
