A Kingdom Leader progresses with a focal point that is clarified by the Spirit of God. The route of that summit breaks new ground and forges a pioneer path. It takes you on the road less traveled. It gives you opportunities that others can only daydream about.
Are you willing to cut a fresh path of spiritual, mental, physical and social leadership? Are you just content to remain on the main routes of life? Are you making headway in spite of blows and opposition? Does fear, anger, revenge or hate control your thinking and feelings? How must you change to focus on Jesus at this moment? Jesus advanced with a balanced life from the age of twelve until his public ministry began. I love the way Kenneth Wuest translates this verse. Luke 2:52 says, And Jesus kept on hewing a pioneer path ahead, making steady progress in wisdom and maturity and in favor in the presence of God and with men.[1] We are praying for your determination and focus today. The last two weeks have been a sad time and celebration. My dad stepped into eternity on January 16th and we buried him on Tuesday of this week. What a joy to see the promises of Jesus fulfilled!
I at least wanted to share with you a few words I spoke at his funeral. He had a major impact on my life. These final thoughts I wrote a couple of years ago in anticipation of this day: At this moment my Daddy stands . . . no. . . He kneels before the presence of God almighty. With a deep sense of awe he glances at the face of God knowing that His power is endless. He nods with respect and looks at the loving face of God. He has always shown that same grace to others during his life. No pretense, just genuine admiration that ends with a slight smile and a warm handshake. Daddy has taught me the true meaning of grace. He has taught me the deep value of people. He has modeled the traits of hard work and love. From his humble beginnings in Dexter, Mississippi to the moment his last breath was taken, he modeled an inviting man of God. Everyone was attracted to him. His wit never dimmed. His responsibility never failed even when the disease ravaged his body. His character remained intact. He wanted to pay the meal ticket in the nursing home. As he would look at me holding the ticket saying, we need to take care of this. The meal ticket is now being paid by the blood of Jesus. If you would be interested in reading his obituary which I proudly wrote, here is a link to that document. http://obits.dignitymemorial.com/dignity-memorial/obituary.aspx?n=Sedgie-Sartin&lc=9773&pid=173894708&uuid=15040069-5729-4586-83aa-6f7b65e3c5ca Thank you for praying with us during these weeks. We are deeply proud to call you a friend. Copyright © 2015 Deeper Still Missions, All rights reserved. Many see the Word of God. . .few observe! 15 Be very careful, then, how you livej—not as unwise but as wise,[1] This scripture requires that each of us analyze each step we take as a follower of Christ. It is possible for us to do many good things and strategically miss the better and bests choices directed by our Lord. The sense of the first word (translated careful) is to take care-watch. We are to be careful, prudent, or watchful to do something. It is conceived of as watching carefully. 1063 βλέπω (blepō): vb.; ≡ Str 991; TDNT 5.315--1. When is the last time you got up before sunrise and went to solitary place to pray for guidance? That was a habit for Jesus. S., & McKenzie, R. (1996). A Greek-English lexicon. Oxford: Clarendon Press. A Kingdom Leader is aware that Christ sees him during any circumstance they face. Even if they are struggling against a storm of problems Christ is aware of the situation. But interestingly enough on some occasions Christ leaves us in certain situations because we are in need of learning. Do you feel like you are going in circles with certain issues in your leadership? Have you missed the lessons Christ is trying to teach you? He allowed you to be there and can see you. Is he intending on passing you by? Have you missed a key lesson? Is your heart hard? Is your heart no longer tender for his teaching? I find it fascinating that Jesus comes walking on the water and intends to pass them by. These guys are professional fishermen and they can’t even go a short distance in a storm. Mark 6:48b (NIV) Shorty before dawn he went out to them, walking on the lake. He was about to pass by them, Look around and see where Christ is in relation to your struggles. He may be closer than you think. His presence may be blinding you. Pray for us as we pray for you today. Cathy and Danny Sartin (1) The Holy Bible: New International Version. Electronic ed. Grand Rapids: Zondervan, 1996, c1984, S.
