servant leadership

A Kingdom Leader is a humble servant of all those whom they lead. Jesus presented himself as an example of kind servant-hood. His selfless washing of the disciples feet presented the complete picture of servant leadership.

As a leader in the kingdom do you command the control of your staff? Do you initiate words of encouragement or growls of dominance? Do you lovingly wash their feet  especially after a failure? Do you renew their hearts, minds and souls? Do you restore them and make them useful for the kingdom?

John 13:3–5 (NIV84)
3 Jesus knew that the Father had put all things under his power, and that he had come from God and was returning to God; 4 so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. 5 After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him.

Being a servant leader is a privileged position in the lives of younger staff and leaders. You have the power to restore a failed disciple. See how many times Jesus restores Peter!
