Cathy with Kim and Jenny Garrity of Greater Europe Mission.
Reach The Heart
Active Level: Safe Relationships with Trust and Intimacy
We begin our on the field relationship by visiting with the missionary on their turf. Kim and Jenny Garrity have served with Greater Europe Mission for over three decades. We started a relationship at McKinney Bible Church in Fort Worth, Texas back in the seventies. They are all too acquainted with the issues missionaries face over the years. We spent a week together looking at the future of God's Kingdom and how we might serve one another in the coming years.
Our second objective is to establish active mentoring. We want to become a partner, disciple and coach. Over a week or two, we work to develop a meaningful, trust-based relationship with the entire family. This time spent walking alongside provides an opportunity to build intimate friendships.
We provide time for the missionary to reflect and to attentively explore their spiritual life. We take the missionary away for a time of personal reflection so that they can return refreshed and renewed. We work to refocus their spiritual life through pastoral care and close friendships that are safe.
