Accepted?

By the one who matters most! Pictured to the left is "Bambi". He was a lone Grey Rhebok who lived on the game farm of Amathunzi in South Africa. He was adopted by the Wiechardt family and given a free reign at their home. He would run and play with the family dogs.

One of the rituals for this young antelope was to walk into the home. Bambi would walk cautiously to seek the bag of dog food always open in the kitchen. I took this picture while he was at the base of the stairs about to embark on his daily hunt for food. He would even allow you to reach out and touch his coat. But that was not for long.

Grey Rhebok have an interesting family and social structure. Male offspring disperse as yearlings and remain peripheral until they can gain a territory. One day Bambi disappeared from the house and the missionaries were not sure of his location. Then one day Bambi showed up with a small family. Thankfully he had not been killed by some of the Wild Cats that roam the mountains around the area.

His adoption into the family only lasted for a season but it was all he needed to grow and prepare for life in a family group. You can still see Bambi on rare occasions but it is always at a distance.

I am so glad that Jesus has adopted us into his family. It is so nice to have a safe place to grow and be accepted. Because He is the one who cares and matters the most!

A Kingdom Leader always invites the analysis and input of other leaders into their daily activity. They recognize that their own personality, strengths and weaknesses can slant their understanding. It can blind them to the selection of priorities and the necessity of collecting quality leaders around you.

Who has questioned your workload and schedule? Do you seek wisdom from others to help establish priorities amid non-stop activities? Are your strengths maximized by the activities that consume you? Are you selecting quality leaders with character that you can pass responsibilities too?

Jethro, the father-in-law of Moses, observed activities for a day in Exodus chapter eighteen. He could clearly see what Moses was missing. He could also see that Moses had put himself in a no win situation.

Exodus 18:18 (ESV)
18 You and the people with you will certainly wear yourselves out, for the thing is too heavy for you. cYou are not able to do it alone.

Seek and invite mentors into your life. They will have eyes, minds and experience that can make you more effective in your leadership. God has placed those mentors around you to help.

Our Post Office Box?

Picture
Our travel with Deeper Still Missions keeps us moving from country to country in various locations. It means communication can be difficult in remote areas of the world. We count on U.S. mail and email to stay in touch.

We have been notified that some mail coming to our Post Office Box in Bartlett, Tennessee has been returned and marked "Undeliverable". Unfortunately the address was correct but it was mishandled. This has included Christmas cards and donations from those who support us. We are not sure how widespread it has been but we would like to visit with Postal leadership to make them aware of the problem.

If this has happened to you would you please call me or return me a message by email. (901-351-2996 is my cell) We would like to gather information on those who have been affected. If you have some mail that has been returned we would like for you to hold on to it so we can show the Post Master.

This is not the first time this has happened but we would like to get this problem corrected. I would appreciate any help you might give to clarify this situation.

We are so grateful for everything God has done over the last nine years and look forward to more opportunities in the future. Thank you for letting us pitch our tent in your world and spend time with you. It is such a joy to walk through God's Kingdom together. We love and appreciate you so much.
