A Kingdom leader does not turn his heart away from the Lord. God may open his ears and provide a powerful moment of instruction. But a humble leader is not contentious. He does not defy the guidance provided and turn away. We introduced the teachable moment God the Father provided for Jesus the Son last month. He would awaken His son morning by morning and open his ears. The key to his lesson was the response of the Son. Isaiah 50:5 says, The Sovereign Lord has opened my ears, and I have not been rebellious; I have not drawn back.(1) When the Lord wakes you in the night do you roll over and seek a return to sleep? Have you turned your attention away from the Word of God? Do you fully trust the Word of God? What about the politically correct issues swirling in our society? Has morality become relative? Are you inwardly rebellious to God's teaching? Today Christian leaders find themselves at the crossroads of thought, faith and behavior. Do you have the meekness to love and speak the truth? This is our moment to wake up and represent the King with humility, graciousness and a love characterized by our Heavenly Father. May God give you the words of love at this critical time.
