A Kingdom Leader is aware of the schemes of Satan in the lives of others. Godly leaders take note of children who can become vulnerable under the tyranny of people who twist perception and truth to fit their dreams for power and control.
Jehoidada took note of Joash as a little boy. His wicked grandmother, Athaleliah, killed all of Joah's siblings! The godly high priest protected him and saw to it that the followers of Atheleliah were put out of the way. Through the spiritual influence of Jehoidada, Joash implemented many reforms in Israel when he became king.
2 Chronicles 24:2 (ESV)
2 dAnd Joash did what was right in the eyes of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest.
You notice that while Jehoiada was alive that Joash stood strong. Afterwards those evil leaders descended on him and he listened to worldly council. He had been propped up by the faith of the great priest. But the Davidic line to the messiah was preserved.
Who came alongside you as a young child? Who influenced you for Christ? Are you doing the same thing for the children in your life? Encourage one today!
