When was the last time you reviewed the covenants you made with our heavenly father? Are you aware of the people closely watching your steps? Do you need to renew your commitment to the Lord?
The people of Israel wandered off the path of faith for many years. Then one day a young king, Josiah, found a book in the Temple as it was being cleaned out. He had it read to everyone in Jerusalem. Everyone was amazed at how far they had strayed from the desires of the Lord.
Everyone in the crowd pledged themselves to change that day.
2 Kings 23:3b (NIV)
3 Then all the people pledged themselves to the covenant.
Among those in the crowd were parents of great prophets such as Daniel and Zechariah. I have always wondered how a young boy went to Babylon and served pagan kings (the rest of their life) while staying clearly focused on the Lord. His faithful life in the midst of a pagan world amazes me.
Pray that we examine our steps and choose to represent Him no mater what comes. Last weekend Cathy and I stayed in the historic city of Worms, Germany. That is the location where the reformation was ignited by a teacher called Martin Luther.
We also pray for you.
