A Kingdom Leader is focused on results. He is not content to just do the job. He wants to excel and surpass the expectations of each goal. The Bible compares it to the production of fruit. As it says in the book of John, every branch that doesn't produce fruit is cleaned off.  If you are not producing fruit then you become useless.

Do you find yourself idle? Do you find yourself not pressing on? In what way are you developing today? Are you so busy that there is not time to refocus, renew and get clarity on your purpose? Are you too busy to read the Bible, pray and seek one on one time with God the Father? Are you goals clear, attainable and challenging?

Actually a Christian Leader can become useless. Peter says that in his final book before he is crucified.

2 Peter 1:8 (ESV)
8 For if these qualities
6 are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or nunfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Those things that need to be added to your faith are essential to keep you from being unfruitful or idle. It is very sobering to me that we can become ineffective and unproductive.

We will pray for you as we ask you to pray for us. God's greatest blessings on you today.

A Kingdom Leader has deep affection for fellow leaders and staff. It is a friendship that comes alongside the life, heart and thinking of a Christian Brother.

Have you visited the home of your partner in ministry? Have they been invited to your home? Do you know the family members by name? Are you aware of the God issues they face?  Are you approachable when it comes to life issues? Do they know you care about their home, life and pressures?

Peter challenges us to add brotherly kindness to our faith. He also says to add it with increasing measure!

2 Peter 1:7 (ESV)
7 and godliness lwith brotherly affection, and brotherly affection mwith love.

Do your staff feel loved by you? Do you look them in the eye and listen to their life issues? Do you have focused attention time with them? Do you greet them with hand shakes and hugs when appropriate? Do you discipline them with love? Those are the four steps to help someone feel like you love them.

Spend some focused time with your brothers today. Don't let the opportunity pass by.

Your Loyalty

A Kingdom Leader honors God. She gives weight to God's opinion about issues in daily life. She does not assume that God's Word is irrelevant to the issues of the twenty-first century. She sees the opportunity to worship God in everyday events and activities. This requires a very practical awareness of God in every aspect of life.

Are you able to see the fingerprints of Jesus in your life? Can you see his touch in your home, work, community and private life? Do you understand the connection between God and everyday events? Or does God seem far away? Have you talked with Him today?

2 Peter 1:5–6 (ESV)
5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith iwith virtue,5 and virtue jwith knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control kwith steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness,

Godliness is piety but most importantly it is devotion to the person of God. You become aware of Him in every aspect of life! Very often that awareness comes from regular reading and study of the Bible. Can you live reverently, loyally and obediently to God? Others can see it in you voice, behavior and temperament.

For Your Patience

A Kingdom Leader is to provide a generous amount of patience to the issues they face. A good leader bears and contends with all conditions and all events that come his way. He honors God with his behavior.

Do you remain behind and help cleanup from an event? Do you stay until everything has been attended to? Do you remain under the daily trials and testings of leadership? This is not just an endurance of difficulties but a brave patience that models leadership and keeps you in the game.

2 Peter 1:5–6 (ESV)
5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith iwith virtue,5 and virtue jwith knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-control kwith steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness

Have the patience and endurance to do what is right. Remain under the pressure of leading and supplement your leadership with patience. Many opportunities will come today to step aside and let others face the difficulties coming. Only Christ could go to the cross. Only you can pickup and bear your cross as Jesus asks us to do.

We are praying for your patience today.

Holding You?

Picture
A Kingdom Leader is keenly aware of self-control. He holds himself in like an athlete who is self-restrained and self-disciplined. Paul talks about this in 1 Corinthians 9:27 where he makes his body a slave through discipline. Then he will not be disqualified.

Are you holding your desires and passions in a safe place? Is your life controlled by your sexual desires? When you are self-controlled then you can be gentle, thoughtful and considerate with others. Your self-control would be a clear manifestation of the Holy Spirit working in your life. It is an event that clearly shows the work of the Holy Spirit.

Peter says to add these items to your faith. 2 Peter 1:5–6 (ESV)
5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith
i with virtue,5 and virtuej with knowledge, 6 and knowledge with self-control, and self-controlk with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness,

Discipline requires attention by you as a leader. Others will be guided and influenced by your self-discipline. Be that leader today! Control your thoughts, your tongue and your behavior.

To Know You!

A Kingdom Leader knows the will of God to help guide his steps each day. Where does this confidence come from?

Do you understand what God wants you to do? Do you have the correct insight to make decisions as we flow down the river of life? Truth must be properly comprehended and applied to different situations.

Peter tells us to add knowledge to our faith. Christ taught his disciples the will of God because he shared all things he had heard from his father. (John 15:15)

2 Peter 1:5 (ESV)
5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith
iwith virtue,5 and virtue jwith knowledge,

John McArthur says, This virtue involves a diligent study and pursuit of truth in the Word of God. Unfortunately we feel that we know the Bible and it's stories. We have knowledge but do we understand?

What do you know of God's Word? Did you read and study this morning? Do you have a specific time set aside to know the Bible? Do you ask good questions and seek to find quality answers?

Go back to His Word today! Don't miss what Jesus has for you in His Word.

A Kingdom Leader is focused on making a maximum effort on each assignment and challenge. She knows that each step they take in leadership calls for total dedication. The Christian Life cannot honor God without great effort.

The Christian life is not lived without significant effort! Thus Peter tells us to add this to our faith. Bring it alongside everything God has given us. Moral excellence or virtue is added to your faith in copious amounts. There is an energy that a leader is to exhibit that provides beyond the need of vigorous activity.

The classical Greek word means the God given ability to perform heroic deeds. John McArthur says, It also came to mean that quality of life which made someone stand out as excellent.1

2 Peter 1:5 (ESV)
5 For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith
iwith virtue,5 and virtue jwith knowledge,

Are you striving for excellence in thought, behavior and feelings? Or are you content to just get by? Take a close look at what you have added to your faith. Would others look at your leadership and say that you reflect excellence?

Honor the Lord today with your excellence of effort! Others will notice.

Our Hearts!

A Kingdom Leader follows the lead of the Lord into difficult circumstances. Very often that situation will include fear and a heavy challenge. Somehow we don't expect the giant problems that confront us.

Do the problems in your life seem enormous? Do you find yourself looking small when you face those troubles? Do others attempt to turn you away from the path the Lord has given you? Were is your faith anchored? Is it focused on your ability or God's ability?

Caleb Wholly followed the Lord. He was not afraid of the giants who occupied the promised land. In fact he was over 80 years old when Joshua lead them to attack the promised land. He said that he wanted the giants. The following scripture speaks of Caleb and his mindset during this massive challenge.

Joshua 14:8 (ESV)
8 But umy brothers who went up with me made the heart of the people melt; yet I wholly followed the Lord my God.

Don't let your heart be melted by the doubt of others. Remember who you are representing and focus on His ability, not yours.

Children Now!

Picture
A Kingdom Leader is aware of the schemes of Satan in the lives of others. Godly leaders take note of children who can become vulnerable under the tyranny of people who twist perception and truth to fit their dreams for power and control.

Jehoidada took note of Joash as a little boy. His wicked grandmother, Athaleliah, killed all of Joah's siblings! The godly high priest protected him and saw to it that the followers of Atheleliah were put out of the way. Through the spiritual influence of Jehoidada, Joash implemented many reforms in Israel when he became king.

2 Chronicles 24:2 (ESV)
2 dAnd Joash did what was right in the eyes of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest.

You notice that while Jehoiada was alive that Joash stood strong. Afterwards those evil leaders descended on him and he listened to worldly council. He had been propped up by the faith of the great priest. But the Davidic line to the messiah was preserved.

Who came alongside you as a young child? Who influenced you for Christ? Are you doing the same thing for the children in your life? Encourage one today!

Seconds!

A Kingdom Leader recruits’ a high-quality influential worker for the ministry. That means the best of the best are usually engaged with full schedules. They services are frequently in high demand! How do you recruit the best of the best?

I asked that question of a board member who ran a world-wide business called Holiday Inns. He said, you must help them to see the value of what is being done. They will always need some time to adjust their schedule and responsibilities, so they can engage the ministry. But they must see you first as a leader! They must be aware of what you are doing.

19 So he departed from there and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen in front of him, and he was with the twelfth. Elijah passed by him and cast nhis cloak upon him.

Again, I love the thoughts of Warren Wiersbe. Have you noticed in the Bible that God usually calls people who are busy? Moses was caring for the sheep; Gideon was threshing wheat; Peter, James, and John were busy in their fishing business; Nehemiah was cupbearer to the king. God has no place for lazy people.

Have you cast your cloak upon another? Is your organization, vision and heart clear to busy people? Can they see your work and comprehend it in a glimpse? Maybe you need to organize your thoughts, so they can be presented in a concise and simple form.

Assume you only have seconds to get your message across! That is what Elijah did!
